What is colour analysis?
Colour analysis is a broad term for analysing a person’s skin, hair and eyes to match them to a colour family (a palette) which will work in harmony with their features, allowing them to look their best. In essence, it is a technique to determine which colours flatter a person most.
An individual is matched to a tonal group of colours. In seasonal colour analysis these are Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn.
12 season colour analysis.
My 12 season colour analysis method blends many modern methodologies. It breaks down each of the colour seasons into a specific palette which takes into account all three aspects of colour, the hue (warm/cool), the depth (light/deep), and the saturation (bright/muted). Once the analysis is complete you will know your season and sub-season. For example, Light Spring (which is light, warm, bright and low contrast).
Your skin’s overtone, undertone, depth/opacity of skin and other features, including eye composition and hair colour/s, all combine in your appearance and your consultation with me will take all of these aspects into account.
12 season analysis is not common in the UK. Many image consultants employ the 4 season method, which is good. However, in my experience it doesn’t go deep enough into a person’s individuality and blend of colouring. My 12 season colour analysis is 3x more accurate, to give my clients the most flattering, personal palette possible.
My Colour Analysis Methods.
-
You know the drill, four colour families are divided into: Summer, Winter, Spring, Autumn.
-
Used in parallel to the classic 4-season model, I further define your skin’s primary and secondary characteristics using tonal classifications: Warm to Cool, Light to Deep, Bright to Muted.
-
We will explore skin in many ways. Your skin will sit within three aesthetic parameters:
Overtone is based on a value scale of fair to deep.
Skin undertone is either warm or cool.
Skin opacity ranges from translucent to opaque.

I have studied how colours mix both in pigments and light. When you think of a colour wheel, it's important to see it as a blended rainbow, not blocks of colour. I use a full spectrum of colour for my recommendations, not just individual hues (i.e. red, blue or green). This gives me complete freedom to recommend colours that suit you, not a franchise template.
-
I have researched the physics of colour and the wavelengths of light. This may sound a bit “out-there” for an image consultant but for my analytical brain, it’s the basis of every colour assessment. All colour consultants are assessing the way light reflects off of a coloured surface and, depending on what wavelengths are bounced and which are absorbed, the effects that light has on the texture/tone of the skin. You don’t need to understand the physics, but know that I do and I apply my research and skills at each colour analysis to give you the most beautiful colour matches for your skin.

Look deep into my eyes… I need to see your iris fibres! Every eye is unique and immensely beautiful. You’ll learn all about the colours, fibre texture and structure. It’s a key aspect of your unique aesthetic that very few people have explored until having a colour consultation.

The Benefits.
-
Inner confidence.
Confidence in your wardrobe.
Confidence in everyday choices.
Confidence at work and when you walk down the street.
Wearing your best colours is a daily lift, a special way to feel extra good about yourself and celebrate the skin you’re in.
-
The power of colour.
Once we find the colour family that is in perfect harmony with your individual tones, your skin will appear radiant and smooth, without make up. Many colour analysis clients who have worn make up for many years, find themselves not feeling the need for full coverage foundation or concealer after their wardrobe reflects their season.
Beauty is not skin deep, but if your natural features are celebrated and your skin oozes vitality, you may find your inner beauty singing the same happy tune.

Shop, no drop.
Treating yourself to a colour analysis is good for your mind but also your pocket and eco-credentials. You’ll no longer have a wardrobe stuffed full of things you don’t wear, or that you liked in the shop but never reach for at home. If you buy it in palette, you’ll wear it, knowing it makes you look fantastic, and each item will harmonise with you as well as everything else in your wardrobe thanks to the colour family of your season. Dressing becomes a breeze.
The knowledge you’ll gain from a consultation will make you a super-efficient shopper too. No dithering, no endless scrolling, and no wasted money.
A website’s colour filter will be your new best friend and you’ll quickly hone in on shops, brands and websites/accounts that echo your colour family.
